Fans of the UK lads will be excited to hear the adolescent quartet are currently in the country shooting the highly anticipated sequel.
Roadshow Films has just announced they’ve secured the Australian distribution rights to next year’s comedy The Inbetweeners Movie 2, which is currently shooting down under.
The follow-up to the UK comedy about four middle class adolescent boys sees favourites Jay (James Buckley), Neil (Blake Harrison), Simon (Joe Thomas) and Will (Simon Bird) reunited in a place far away from home: Australia.
With production having kicked off in Queensland on December 7, the new movie will be filmed across the country until late January. Creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley are back writing and directing the film with producer Spencer Millman (The Mighty Boosh, Man Down), as well as the core main cast.
The first Inbetweeners feature film did some serious business at the box office, grossing over $9.2m in Australia and spending a month at the top of the UK box office following three critically lauded seasons as a cult British comedy series.
The Inbetweeners Movie 2 will be released by Roadshow Films in August, 2014.
